The 15-second product ad script, beat by beat
Fifteen seconds is not a short video, it is five separate jobs done in order. Get the order wrong and the ad fails on a technicality, not on creativity.
The five beats
| Time | Beat | Script rule |
|---|---|---|
| 0.0–1.5 | Problem | One sentence, present tense, no brand name |
| 1.5–4.0 | Product in context | Show it being used, not on a white background |
| 4.0–8.0 | Proof | Texture, detail, before/after — one close shot |
| 8.0–12.0 | Offer | Price anchor, bundle, or deadline. Say the number |
| 12.0–15.0 | CTA | One action, repeated once, on screen and in voice |
Fill-in template
Problem: "Most ___ do ___ , which means ___ ."
Context: "This is what it looks like when ___ ."
Proof: "Look at ___ . That is ___ , not ___ ."
Offer: "It is ___ , and this week it ships with ___ ."
CTA: "Tap the link and pick your ___ ."
Three mistakes that cost the most
- Logo first. Nobody has agreed to care yet at second zero.
- Two CTAs. "Follow and buy" halves both actions. Pick one, per ad, per audience.
- No price. Silence on price reads as "expensive" to a cold viewer.
Why the numbers are these numbers
Retention curves drop hardest in the first two seconds and again right after the product reveal. The structure above puts something new at each drop: a claim, then an image, then a detail, then a number. That is the entire trick.

Common questions
Can this structure work for a 30-second ad?
Yes — hold each beat twice as long and add one extra proof shot. Do not add a second CTA.
Does the script work without voiceover?
Yes. Put each line on screen as a caption, timed to the same beats.
