A brand story script you can fill in today
Most brand films fail because they describe the company instead of the change. This template forces the change into the first line.
The four beats
"Before we existed, ___ was ___ ." Concrete noun, real cost, no adjectives.
"We found that ___ , which nobody was doing because ___ ." The second half is what makes it credible.
"Since then ___ ." A number, a customer situation, a before/after frame.
"If ___ , start with ___ ." One action, one destination.
What to cut, always
- Founded years and headcount — nobody chooses a supplier on either.
- Mission statements with three abstractions in one sentence.
- Stock footage of handshakes, sunrises and servers.
- Music that builds to a drop with no visual event to land on.
Length, honestly
Forty-five to sixty seconds for a website hero, fifteen to twenty for the social cut. Both come from the same clean master — that is why the caption file matters more than the render settings.
Keeping it editable
Prices change, products change, and a brand film you cannot re-edit becomes a sunk cost within a year. Store the words in a caption file, keep the master clean, and the update takes fifteen minutes instead of a re-shoot.

Common questions
Should the founder appear on camera?
Only if the founder is the reason people buy. Otherwise the face dates the film faster than the message does.
How often should the story video be updated?
When the offer changes. Keep the structure, replace the words.
